As you may have noticed over the last couple of weeks, it's awfully quiet on the Creative Sprint website and social media.. Last month there even wasn't a blog post. I really felt bad about that and promise to make it up to you this weekend. But it also was a wake up call.
We started out with a small team of 3/4 people. And launched the website in April 2013. Since then we have organised a sprint every month. Due to other projects and obligations the team has shrunken down to one person and of course sometimes 2 people during the live support. Although it may look like it doesn't take a lot of time maintaining the Creative Sprint website. It costs me hours of work each month to start a sprint. It's not only doing the technical stuff like fixing bugs and developing new feautres, it's also writing a blogpost, doing live support, backup photos, social media, mailings etc. And although I always enjoyed it a lot and did it with a lot of love and passion. I currently don't have the time to give the project and you all the attention and time you deserve.
I have been thinking about looking for a new team member or administrator to take care of the website. But the website is build in such a poor way it would be almost inevitable to have to create the website from scratch for someone else than myself to be able to operate it. But if you're up for it, please contact me.
It's a shame to kill this project and I'm very sorry about this... I know there are a few hardcore sprinters out there. I have been thinking about it long and hard over the last couple of weeks. But I believe it's for the better, now we're all still enjoying it. It would be terrible to see this thing we've all build with so much love and creativity to die a silent dead. Now we can look back and still think about it with a smile.
I really enjoyed every moment of it. And although it may sound cliche I will never forget this experience and who have participated during the sprints. I hope you have enjoyed it as well, the challenges, the experimentation, the exploring, the rush, the inspiration, the ups and downs. It was a blast being part of this little creative community.
Of course we can't say goodbye with a announced last sprint.
Therefore sprint 16, july 19 + 20 will be the official last sprint.
We would love for you to join us!
Thank you all so much for being part of this !!!
We hope to see you next month!
